Yes, the Sonos 3.5mm to USB-C adapter, intended replace the audio jack on their newer speakers, is a class compliant USB audio interface.
I've tested it on both my Mac and iPhone, and both work with it just fine. It shows up like any other class compliant audio input and offers up to 24 bit resolution at 96kHz. Not too bad for a tiny $30 dongle!
I keep mine plugged into a Hosa stereo breakout cable, for recording from synths with 1/4" outputs.
The only quirks I've ran into are:
- It seems like you need something physically plugged into the audio jack before connecting it to your phone or computer for it to be recognized.
- If you're on an iPhone, I'd probably only recommend it if you're running iOS 26 (or newer when that comes out). Being able to actually pick which audio input is being used removes a lot of the frustration of iOS picking the wrong source and not telling you for a whole recording...
